Spiritual Growth There is one predominant, common thread among us all which drives us humanly -- consciously or unconsciously -- back to seeking out our Divine connection, and that is light. To turn and face that light, is the choice one makes when embarking upon a path of spiritual growth. This is a unique gift of our times. It does not mean packing your bags, selling your house and entering a monastery. In fact, it is so vitally important to participate in your life as an integrated, functional whole -- and happy -- Being, that... your evolution depends upon it.
Integrating light into your ordinary reality, as part of your ordinary life, may seem foreign. In truth, it is simply forgotten.
You could start right now practicing in some subtle, quiet way, noticing light. Whether it’s how you breathe or the reflection off of leaves in the park -- or the shimmer of the moon on a quiet lake. Light is everywhere all the time.
Your spirituality is the blessing of your life. You are a spiritual being.
To be in touch with that, to walk from there, to be connected to that energetic of Being, comes as a result of choices, discernment and hard work.
You have an opportunity to seek this out as part of life. It is an available option and is given by virtue of your own conscious, deliberate choice. Modalities in the self-help movement are exponential in number. Every level is available for any individual to find the help they are seeking. It’s more about if you choose to seek.
Can you choose to consider something beyond what you know? The Dalai Lama talks about adopting wider perspectives... finding the commonality among us rather than the differences... Wider perspectives, the broadening of the mind, can happen in many ways.
Coercion, pain, trauma -- all the sufferings that drive man to seeking are one way -- exploring spiritual growth and choosing a spiritual integrated practice, meditation, and perhaps studying mystical material that’s been here for centuries -- is another.
All roads lead you back to the same place of exploring your Self. That is precisely what spiritual growth is: exploration of Self.
Beginning to direct your focus inward and learn to listen; finding deeper solution; reflection, contemplation, and then demonstration of the higher insight; living a more reduced, fundamental way of life; one that accesses Beingness.
How do you get to Beingness? That is the purpose of the Path.
The guiding force that draws anyone onto the Path of spiritual growth, is the light being held -- that invisible force -- which brings one forward to seek out something mysteriously quiet inside of them. This is the nature of spiritual growth.
There was a statistical blurb across one of the major news networks not too long ago, that indicated over the next year alone, 25 million people would inquire into some form of self-help. Let’s start here, with self-help.
The spiritual growth movement is the undercurrent -- the underpinning -- of the self-help movement.
Self-help, or growth, over the last 25 years, has been housed in psychology. And if you haven’t noticed, the psychological world could not contain itself within the constraints of their own doctrines.
Spirit was knocking at the door of mind. The intent of the psychotherapeutic movement holds the psyche as healthy.
But the treadmills that come off of the addiction to pain matrix, hold the psyche as hostage. If your therapist is still operating as an addict to pain himself, or as an addict to anything, you might want to pay attention to the writing on the wall. The best psychologists and therapists available know this, and have gone on their own journeys into the exploration of consciousness, so they can be in THEIR growth curve to serve their clients. Victim consciousness-orientation is what walks in the door of a therapist’s office. Conscious choice-creation-orientation is what can walk in the door -- and then out of it into the world -- of you the seeker by virtue including spiritual growth within your awareness.
There is nothing that will open you faster, rattle your cage quicker or bring you through the eye of the needle more profoundly than an avenue that holds light as one of its primary ingredients: consciously, and deliberately.
Included within the light structure is always housed the psychology of man. A good practitioner in the alternative field knows this, and has this naturally integrated within their practice.
You have to really want change as this is the result of stepping off of treadmills. When the light touches you, when you open to that possibility, you open yourself to the ultimate possibility of the Divine entering your life.
Whatever your expectations are of that, you can give up, and sooner than later.
Giving up expectations does not mean giving up your spiritual practice or the compelling that drives you. It is this: seeking, touching, being touched by light that churns the internal space, and has you beginning to turn your eye inward for direction, for listening, and for how to demonstrate your highest most integral level of consciousness in any given situation. An inherent constituent of self-help, of helping yourself, is choosing spiritually to grow and become more of who you are... to Become.
It just doesn’t look that way on the cover. Ken Carey talks about the ‘islands of light’ creating themselves in these times for Beings to find, wake up through, and come to live their higher-aspected lives as a result of integral work from such lighthouses existent on the Earth.
Be prepared, if you choose to find an avenue you are resonant with in the heart and mind which serves you in breaking the chains, for acceleration of your process and for re-direction to your very roots.
This itself is an evolutionary process.
When you know you have saturated a level of growth through the structure you are working within, and are still thirsty for more, seek the next level that opens and fills you. The next level of consciousness that may support you and catalyze you OUT of the circumstances you’re grappling with, into greater peace and understanding is right there. To what end? Connection with your Self, to the within space -- the inner sanctuary -- a deep chalice well for listening, hearing, being soothed and finding clarity, and demonstration from that inner space, the highest truth you are aware of in that moment of time. This, the receptive internal nature that listens and responds from Connection.
The journey continues into wholeness.
This is the gift of pursuing spiritual growth, and of fundamentally establishing it as a priority in your daily life.
Finding new ways that are in harmony with your essential nature, and ways that not only feel good in the body to explore, but ways that are lined up -- aligned -- with your personal level of integrity -- this is the Work. Light matters. And, light works. Happy Trails.
